Dr R. K. Sharma

Is a graduate from Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla. He has an excellent academic career having obtained Gold Medals in Surgery and in E N T and Ophthalmology examinations during his graduation. He was Secretary of the Debating Department and Dramatics Society.

He joined the Army Medical Corps in 1982 and served with the Indian Army for 16 years. He has obtained his Post-Graduation degree in Obstetrics and & Gynecology from AFMC Pune, following which he served as Graded Specialist and later as Classified Specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics in various Military hospitals. His postings have included prestige postings like Army Hospital Delhi Cantonment, Command Hospital, Pune. He has also served for 2 years in the region of the Leh - Ladakh and the Siachen and Kargil area.

He joined the M.G.M. Medical College & Hospital as Associate Professor in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. He also held the appointment of the Medical Superintendent of the Medical College Hospital, from July'1998 to March 2002.

In keeping with his interest in Community Welfare and Health he has played an active role in holding several Camps for Corrective Surgery in Children affected by Polio, Child health, Eye camps for Cataract Surgery and other Multidiagnostic camps in the local population.

He is on the Governing Council of NASEOH (National Association for Equal Opportunities for the Handicapped) since 1999, an organization that works for the benefit of the mentally and physically disadvantaged. They also help providing job opportunities for their people.

He is an active member of the Navi Mumbai Gynecology and Obstetrics Association an associated body of FOGSI. He is also a life member of the Association of Medical Consultants and the Indian Medical Association as well as its Navi Mumbai Chapter.
